The Palace Theatre in Myrtle Beach, located at Broadway at the Beach, is home to many splendid performances from musicals to Broadway shows. One of their most spectacular and highly acclaimed events is Le Grande Cirque in Myrtle Beach, SC. This act is often compared to the famous Cirque de Soleil show. Le Grande Cirque is not quite as large as that show, but has its own attributes and highlights that create a fascinating and highly entertaining evening.
The show's line up of international performers is made up of some of the world's best acrobats, high wire artists and jugglers. The dancers, clowns and contortionists are amazing. If you ever hear anyone compare this to a circus, keep in mind that it is very different and offers so much more. The professionalism, talent, music, lighting and quality of performers takes this show miles beyond that comparison.
Guests are amazed over many aspects of Le Grande Cirque from the costumes, to the classical rock music and the amazing acrobatic feats that seem to defy nature. Many oohs and aahs will be heard throughout the audience along with much laughter and enjoyment. The clowns usually make even the most hesitant clown fans smile and the pet show with cats and dogs is said to be an impressive and hilarious performance. The talented artists make the costumes seem to come to life with things such as flying butterflies and dancing fairies.
What a wonderful presentation for kids and adults of all ages. This is definitely one that the entire family or group should enjoy. Shows are daily Monday through Saturday at 8 pm. Tickets for kids 12 and under free with paid adult with the VMB Card.
The Caravelle Cup charity golf tournament returns for our fourth year and this year we've brought some exciting changes. After holding our event in March for the first three years, we've moved it to May 13-16 to optimize golf course and weather conditions.
As in each of the last two years, the tournament will be a two man Texas scramble with the first round held on Friday, May 14 at Arrowhead Country Club and the second round will be on Saturday, May 15 at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club. This year however, we will also be holding the Caravelle Collegiate Cup in conjunction with the Plantation Junior Golf Tour, and each team will play their first round paired with a college player as they compete in their own stroke play event. On day two, the Collegiate Cup will continue at Arrowhead, while the Caravelle Cup participants move over to the Dunes Club.
Player parties will also be held on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at The Caravelle with free food, drinks and a variety of giveaways.
Our event was recently featured in the Myrtle Beach Sun News. Click here for the story.
Caravelle Cup packages start at only $399 per player and include three nights at The Caravelle, two rounds of golf, daily breakfast, nightly player parties and welcome gift. Contact our golf department at (843) 918-7008 or click here to email us.

The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball team is set to take the field for 2010 with a lofty #12 ranking in the Baseball America preseason poll, and look to extend their run of four consecutive NCAA baseball tournament appearances this weekend at The Caravelle Resort Tournament.
The Caravelle Resort is proud to continue our relationship with the "Chants" in support of their run at another Big South conference baseball championship and NCAA glory. As a proud supporter of Coastal Carolina baseball, the Caravelle has been named title sponsor for THREE tournaments this upcoming season, including the season opening tournament February 19-21. This first Caravelle Resort Tournament will pit the Chants versus Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia Tech. The second Caravelle sponsored event, The Caravelle Resort Invitational, will match the Chants against the likes of Toledo, Pittsburgh and Ball State on the weekend of March 5-7 at Watson Stadium at CCU. The third and final Caravelle sponsored event, The Caravelle Resort Classic, brings Big 10 teams Illinois and Michigan to Watson Stadium to take on the Chants.
We are thrilled to be a part of another action packed season of Chants baseball, and highly recommend all Caravelle baseball fans trying to fit a game or two into their schedule. Chants key players this year include returning Big South conference pitcher of the year and preseason All American Cody Wheeler, USA Baseball team member Scott Woodward and All Big South preseason members Anthony Meo, Rico Noel, Adam Rice and Daniel Bowman.

The Caravelle Resort is proud to celebrate our 50th Anniversary this year. March 1 marks the 50th birthday for us after the Caravelle Motel (above) opened its doors in 1960. We've come a long way since we opened for business as a 27 room motel with several expansions and renovations along the way, growing to where we are today - a nine building, 500 unit resort offering rooms, one bedroom suites and two and three bedroom condos.
Through the years, The Caravelle has become a true landmark in Myrtle Beach and has helped to pave the way for Myrtle Beach to become a great place for families, golfers, couples and other beach-goers to take a vacation. In 1962 The Caravelle offered the first golf package in Myrtle Beach history, which eventually helped lead Myrtle Beach to become known as the Golf Capital of the World and home of over 100 golf courses. Other firsts that The Caravelle introduced to Myrtle Beach were the first on-site restaurant at a motel property, first covered pool and first ever kids club!
What has helped make The Caravelle such a great place after all these years is the great guests that we've had through the years and the many friendships that we've made. From the folks who have continued staying with us since the original motel was built and have brought three generations of their family to The Caravelle and Myrtle Beach, to those who have just recently experienced our resort for the first time, we are privileged to serve all of the wonderful people who stay with us. Thank you to all of you who have helped make us a great place to stay!

The May issue of Golf Digest has been released and Myrtle Beach has once again showed why so many call our area "The Golf Capital of the World" by having seven courses named to "America's Top 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses". Golf Digest produces this list every two years and Myrtle Beach continually dominates the rankings. For a comparison of how impressive it is to have 7 courses ranked within a 42 mile span, the entire state of California has 9 courses on the list while Florida had only four courses make the list throughout the whole state.
The courses to receive this great honor are: The Heritage Club (33), The Dunes Golf and Beach Club (38), Tidewater (41), Caledonia Golf and Fish Club (66), Grande Dunes Resort Course (77), Fazio Course at Barefoot (96) and Dye Club at Barefoot (99). Not only is The Caravelle a member to the prestigious Dunes Club, but we are also partners with all seven courses on the list and our golf director can arrange tee times for you on any of these great layouts. Oh, and there just happen to be another 95 or so other great courses that we can arrange tee times for you.
To reserve your times, contact our golf director at golf@thecaravelle.com or by calling 800-507-9145.
