Visiting Duplin Winery in North Myrtle Beach

You're strolling along the coast in front of your beautiful beachfront suite, salty hair blowing in the breeze when the mood for Southern style porch sippin’ strikes. You’re in luck! The award-winning Duplin Winery, North Myrtle Beach's sweetest secret, is about to turn your beach vacation into a full-blown grape escape.

Forget stuffy wine cellars and pretentious pours. This isn’t your grandma's winery (unless your grandma was a total rockstar who loved live music and dancing under the stars, in which case, high five!). Duplin's all about kicking back and soaking up the Carolina vibes.

And let's not forget the atmosphere! Live music spills out onto the patio, laughter bubbles like Champagne, and the friendly staff are always ready to share a story (and maybe even a recipe for their famous sangria).

It's the kind of place where strangers become friends.

This is where Southern charm meets sassy grapes, and the only judgment you'll find is, "Dang, that's good!"

We’ve all heard the Cinderella stories of wineries in Napa and like any big brand winery that has grown because of faith and grit, Duplin Winery is no exception. The Duplin Winery is the largest winery in the south and the largest Muscadine winery in the world.

Duplin’s Journey

In the early 70s, two North Carolina brothers, with acres of grapes to sell, faced a dilemma: plummeting grape prices and a mountain of unmarketable fruit. But Dan and David Fussell, fueled by grit and ingenuity, took a gamble. They'd make wine!

From makeshift mason jars to state-of-the-art facilities, Duplin Winery's journey has been as sweet as its Muscadine grapes. They learned to coax out their signature flavor, battled high costs with backyard solutions, and built a legacy one sip at a time.

Now, the second generation carries the torch, honoring their heritage with every bottle. Dave and Jonathan Fussell, grandsons of the wine-making pioneers, remember watching their family pour their hearts into the business.

What to Expect

From hand-cranked presses to automated lines producing 40,000 bottles a day (you read that right), Duplin Winery has come a long way. Yet, their core values remain unchanged: family, fun, and, of course, delicious wine.

So, ditch the pinky raisin and join the Duplin family. Share their laughter, sip their stories, and see the legacy unfold. Visit their sunny spot on U.S. Highway 17 South, right next door to Alligator Adventure and across from Barefoot Landing or their original home in Rose Hill, NC.

You can purchase Duplin wines online or at their tasting rooms in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Rose Hill, North Carolina. They also have a wine club that offers first access to exclusive wines and discounts on wine and shipping.

Duplin Winery’s Muscadine Wine

Duplin Winery specializes in sweet wines made from Muscadine grapes, a native grape to the southeastern United States. They also offer a selection of over 40 wines that range from dry to very sweet wines, sangrias, ciders, and mixers that they call Sweetzers. Some of their most popular Muscadine wines include:

  • Sweet Caroline: A sweet, fruity red wine

  • Midnight Magnolia Reserve: A sweet, elegant wine with notes of honeysuckle and peach

  • Coastal Shag: A dry, fruity, and light-bodied white wine

  • Sunshine State of Wine: A magically sweet wine with tropical fruit flavors

Muscadine Health And Beauty Supplements

Native to the US, Muscadines offer more than just deliciousness. Duplin harvests them at peak ripeness, revealing a wealth of antioxidants like anthocyanidins and quercetin to produce Muscadine Grape Seed Dietary Supplement. Studies suggest these antioxidants, concentrated in Muscadine Grape Seed capsules, may fight free radicals, support joint health, and even benefit cardiovascular health.

Duplin Winery may be known for its sweet Muscadine wines, but their offerings extend far beyond! They cater to a wider range of palates with a selection of dry, off-dry, and sparkling wines crafted from various grape varietals.

  • Scuppernong: A traditional muscadine wine with a floral aroma and cool, sweet taste

  • Muscadine Moscato: A light and refreshing wine with notes of orange blossom and peach

  • Midnight Magnolia: A premium wine with a complex flavor profile and a smooth finish
