Rainy Day Activities in Myrtle Beach

So, you got to the beach and you encounter a rare rainy day. Dang! I know you planned to lie on the beach and bask in the sun, but the weatherman has other plans for you.  Luckily, Myrtle Beach is filled with attractions that let you have as much fun indoors as you would outside.

Check Out a Movie

There are plenty of theaters that are convenient to The Caravelle Resort, so even if there are clouds in the sky, you can still be entertained while it rains. There’s a Cinemark Theater at Coastal Grand Mall if you want to catch a flick after shopping, or Grand 14 if you’re on the south end of the beach near Market Common. If you happen to be at Broadway at the Beach when it starts pouring cats and dogs, you could slip into the Broadway 17 theater, or, if you didn’t go too far from the The and are near the Myrtle Beach Mall on the north side, check out Carmike 12.

Experience the Attractions

Head over to Broadway at the Beach for a ton of fun attractions the whole family will love. Spend the day under the sea at Ripley's Aquarium to see and learn about everything from sharks, stingrays, jellyfish, mermaids, and more. Ever want to take pictures with your favorite celebrities? The Hollywood Wax Museum, located right across the street from Broadway, not only makes posing with your famed idols a possibility, but you can also read and learn about fun and interesting facts about their lives as well. Another great rainy day escape at Broadway at the Beach is WonderWorks. WonderWorks is a hands-on, interactive science museum where you can experience hurricane force winds, lie on a bed of nails, land a space shuttle, climb the ropes course and so much more. 

Chow Down

There are so many restaurants here on the Grand Strand that are convenient to The Caravelle Resort. For example, there’s Lombardo’s Bistro on 79th Ave., a nice and cozy Italian spot to dine in on a rainy day. Also close by is California Dreaming where they offer Myrtle Beach’s best salads, and Empire Fire Mongolian Grill for fresh appetizers and tasty entrees.

  

On-Site Activities

Is it raining too hard to leave the resort? Not a problem! with all of our on-site amenities, there is enough to do here at The Caravelle to keep you entertained all day long. You can still take a swim no matter what the weather is like outside in our indoor pool, located on the 7th floor. Our game room has always been a hit with the kids and is a sure way to keep them entertained for hours if you're stuck inside due to a rainy day. Listening to the sound of rain is a great way to relax and there's no better place to relax than at our Aqua Petite Spa. Open by appointment, Aqua Petite offers everything from massage therapy, spa packages, body scrubs, to organic spa facials. If those ideas weren't enough to keep you going all day, then you can always dine at one of our 3 on-site restaurants or get in a quick workout at our on-site gym.
