The Caravelle’s green practices include:
- Green Partner with Tripadvisor
- Linen reuse
- Scrap metal recycling
- Cooking oil recycling
- Battery and printer cartridge recycling
- Use of energy efficient light bulbs
- Use Energy Star appliances
- Heat and cooling controls in each individual unit
- Energy efficient boilers/furnaces
- Energy efficient heat pumps
- Preventative maintenance
- Exterior automatic lighting
- Will soon implement tracking water use
- Use of mainly recycled toilet paper, facial tissue and paper towels that contain biodegradable products and recycled packaging
- Use of Ecolab products throughout the resort
- Use of recycled toilet paper, facial tissue, paper towels, and office paper
- Use of EPA WasteWise Re-TRAC waste tracking system
- Correct discarding of fluorescent light bulbs
- Reusable cutlery are used for in-house dining
- Minimal use of herbicides, pesticides and chemicals are used on landscaping projects
- Landscaping uses native vegetation
- Rain water collection and permeable paving is used to minimize storm water surplus
- Excess items from the resort are regularly donated to local organizations
