How To Vacation On A Budget
When funds are tight, it’s hard to justify the cost of a vacation. Knowing when and how to find the best travel and hotel deals can help significantly! Planning out low cost entertainment and looking for ways to save on the price of food can also prevent you from putting a huge dent in your budget. Growing up, my parents planned our family vacations a year in advance and would save money by putting a large jug on the kitchen counter. Throughout the year, the whole family (guests sometimes too) would throw any spare change we had into the container as we walked by. To help with costs, we would stay in hotels with fully equipped kitchens, so we could cook our own meals. And we would only go out to eat and splurge 1 night.
Now-a-days, there are many other ways to plan a vacation on a budget. By planning early, you can often lock in the lowest prices on airfare without the worry of ticket prices increasing due to gas prices climbing. Hotels are also more likely to have vacancies the earlier you schedule your stay, which allows you to choose from a wider variety of room options. Many times, hotels will even run “early bird” specials with extra savings … I know The Caravelle does!
You can also save money on vacations by travelling off-season. And if you plan to fly, pack light! The fewer bags you pack, the less it will cost. Keep in mind that most hotels have toiletries, hairdryers, etc…that could be one less bag you need right there. In addition, if you do decide to dine out, do so in the morning or around lunch when the prices are less expensive.
If you’re planning a vacation this summer, then The Caravelle has many great options to help you stay within your budget! Call now to take advantage of our early summer savings on accommodations. Save money by using the four-burner stoves, full size refrigerators, microwaves and coffee makers in each of our units. Enjoy the benefits of being oceanfront and walking to the beach, lounging by our indoor or outdoor pool, or soaking up the sun while you relax in our lazy river. And if you have kids, be sure to sign them up for our complimentary children’s activities. From Memorial Day – Labor Day, your kids will love our fun, kid-friendly events. Offered 7 days a week, they will have fun searching for shark’s teeth, competing in our hula-hoop and water balloon limbo contests, going on scavenger hunts, playing beach soccer, kickball, beach Olympics, capture the flag, or participating in our splashtastic pool games. We have sand castle competitions, karaoke dance parties, water balloon tosses and many other activities planned that will keep your kids entertained at no extra charge to you! We even have a Family Survivor Night where your entire family can bond while competing against other families. Spend Monday nights watching Chief Kamu’s Fire and Hula Show on our oceanfront lawn or Thursday nights lounging by the pool watching a G-rated movie. Enjoy all of this and more when you vacation at The Caravelle Resort! And remember, just for staying at The Caravelle, you can save tons of money at various attractions, restaurants and shopping in the Myrtle Beach area by using our VMB benefits card which is free to you at check-in!
