The Golden Mile is often touted as one of the area’s most coveted locations for beachgoers. This area of Central Myrtle Beach extends from around 34th Avenue North to 52nd Avenue North and is mostly made up of beachfront surrounded by private residences. This area is the perfect spot for anyone wanting to avoid larger beach crowds.

Cabana District



A smaller subsection just north of The Golden Mile is the Cabana District. Starting at 54th Avenue North, this section gets its name from the colorful cabanas that line the beachfront. Visitors will also find a children’s playground on the south end of the Cabana District.

Opening in 2011, the SkyWheel was the first of its kind on the east coast and is one of the tallest observation wheels in the United States, taking riders 200 feet above the ground. The wheel includes air-conditioned gondolas and provides some of the most spectacular beach views in Myrtle Beach.





Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

This 1.2-mile oceanfront boardwalk has attracted vacationers since its opening in 2010. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk extends from Pier 14 on 14th Avenue North to 1st Avenue North. Along with the boardwalk includes Plyler Park where family-friendly festivals are held throughout the year. Visitors will find shops, restaurants, and gorgeous ocean vistas along this walkable boardwalk.

Myrtle Beach’s single-A baseball team, the Myrtle Beach Pelicans play their games at TicketReturn.com Field, across the street from Broadway at the Beach. The Pelicans have held affiliations with the Atlanta Braves, Texas Rangers, and the Chicago Cubs and have won four minor league titles.





The team began league play in 1999 and has been the home for many notable major league players including Rafael Furcal, Marcus Giles, Adam Wainwright, and Freddie Freeman.
