The Caravelle Resort’s Cozy Liquids Lounge

When you’ve got a bartender with a last name like “Ice," you can guarantee your mixed drinks will be just right.

The Caravelle Resort is home to the Liquids Lounge, the lovely, intimate bar right across the street from the front check-in desk. Michelle Ice, the lead bartender, is usually here around 4:00 p.m. to start happy hour.

“I’ve been in Myrtle Beach since November,” says the expert mixologist, who’s originally from Cleveland, Ohio. “I guess I was just tired of the weather up there,” she laughed.

Aside from the many palate-pleasing beers (like Bud Light and Corona) and various mixed drink choices from margaritas to screwdrivers, the inviting Liquids Lounge has a terrific short order menu with tasty appetizers like Grouper Nuggets or Chicken Wings, full-sized sandwiches like The Caravelle Club or the ½ pound Beach Burger, and other tasty items like flavorsome Golden Fried Perch or Calabash Style Shrimp seafood baskets, or fresh House or Chef salads.

Whether you decide to drink and dine on the Liquids Lounge’s attractive lantern-lined patio or walk through the double doors to the inside where there are warm art pieces all over the walls, Ms. Ice’s smile will make feel like you’ve known her for years.

“My favorite thing about being a bartender is definitely socializing and meeting people,” Michelle says. “I absolutely hate it when it’s slow. Probably the most challenging but fun times are when there are large functions, like weddings. A little while ago there was a party in here the night before a wedding - it was bananas. I admit, it was a lot of work keeping up with everybody, but I had a cool time with my customers that evening.”

Come have a cocktail and an appetizer at The Caravelle Resort’s Liquids Lounge with Michelle. It won’t be your last visit!
