August Events 2015

If you planned an end of summer vacation in Myrtle Beach, then you're in luck. Even though the summer is beginning to wind down, there is still a lot happening on the Grand Strand throughout the month of August.

2015 Summerfest at Barefoot Landing

Summerfest, which began on June 1st, will still be going strong all the way until August 29th. These weekly events include live entertainment, kids' karaoke, stilt walkers, face painting, appearances from your favorite super heroes and princesses, fireworks every Monday at 10:15pm, and more. Summerfest has a little bit of something for everyone and is sure to be a hit amongst your family members of all ages.

Myrtle Beach Speedway

Ride on the back of the Macho Mutt Monster Truck for only $10. The Macho Mutt's wheels are a whopping 64", making this ride perfect for all you thrill seekers out there. You can also take a Pace Car Ride for a speedy, yet safe for all ages, ride around the racetrack with a professional driver. If you're looking for a little more speed, you can ride shotgun in a real NASCAR race car for a total of 3 laps at top speed. If you think you got what it takes to drive on your own, you can do that too! After a driver's meeting with the crew Chief for training and instruction, you're good to race around the track by yourself for a 5 to 8 minute racing session. Click here for more information.

Movies Under The Stars

Every Friday night throughout the month of August , The Market Common will host free, family, outdoor movie nights in Valor Park. The movies start at approximately 9pm once the sun goes down. Movies in the August lineup include Up, Finding Nemo, An American Tail, and Beetle Juice.
