Who Needs a Potty Anyways!

Since 2006, The Caravelle Resort has been our #1 choice for our yearly family vacation to Myrtle Beach.  My son, Karson, was 3 and my daughter, Katey, was only 1 when we first started taking them to the beach.  Here we have built such fond family memories that will last a lifetime! 

One particular memory that stands out in my mind is when my son, Karson (then 3 years old), had to use the bathroom while playing on the beach.  We live in Pilot Mountain, which is a rural area in North Carolina and have a pond that neighbors our property.  We trained our son how to urinate standing up by letting him practice by the pond.  We also used cheerios for targets while training him to hit the potty.  I guess we shouldn’t have been totally surprised when Karson decided to pull his pants down and take a leak in the ocean in front of a crowed beach!  When I asked him why he did this, he answered, “This is the biggest pond I’ve ever seen.  And it has Cheerios floatin’ in it!”  The “cheerios” were little shells floating in the waves that hit his feet.  I know my face was as red as a lobster and it wasn’t sunburn!  His little white butt facing the ocean is a memory that I will never forget!

Karson and Katey look forward to our vacation at The Caravelle each year.  The Caravelle always does an outstanding job at making us feel welcome each year which makes it comforting and familiar to our family as we return year after year.  As an added note:  There are bathrooms located by the pool area!  J
