Marry Me?

I must say, the Caravelle will always hold special memories for me! It's really difficult being a divorced mom or dad, meeting someone, and if you're really, really lucky, you meet someone who is a good person, a good man, and a good father who accepts you AND your children unconditionally.  I was fortunate to meet him. It's been a struggle for us. He was putting his kids through the last few years of college and getting them set up on their own, and helping my children through tough times as well.  Three years...may not be a very long time, but long when you find someone you love being with, but realizing you need to put your kids first...waiting, and waiting for "your" time can be difficult. Everyone knows that there are many struggles, obsticles, and wonderful times relationships go through.

After talking about finally taking a short vacation together, alone, we looked and looked on-line for the perfect, reasonable place that we could find. I have to say, my past on-line picks haven't been so lucky, but The Caravelle was wonderful. Athough my boyfriend kept telling me things would be great, I still had worries. After making the 9 hr trip there, we checked in and the room was AWESOME. We left shortly after to go to dinner, and then he asked if I wanted to take a walk on the beach. I was delighted! We had been waiting so long for time alone, and I was looking so forward to it. We went back to the room to drop off our personal things and off we went. As we walked along the ramp to the beach, I knew he was holding back a bit. After taking a few steps he grabbed my hand, and turned me around. That's when he got down on one knee...and asked me to marry him! NOW...my vacation is complete! We were staying in a wonderful hotel, enjoying the sand and sun, and just our time alone.  I guess the old saying is right..."good things come to those who wait".  Our time is finally coming!
