Last Trip
Margery Campbell | Lexington
When our son-in-law (37) was given only 6 months to live, he asked the drs. if he could travel. They told him to do whatever he wanted. He opted out of the last treatment cycle and after surfing the web, my daughter got reservations at Caravelle Resort.
Bill wanted to be on the beach, able to see the ocean and wanted palm trees around him. We found all of that at the Caravelle. He had a great week and we were so thankful we came there to let him have some good days.
He got his wish and as it turned out, it was the last trip he was able to take. On June 6, he passed away.
The memories and pictures we have of that trip were so good for his four daughters . They had a great time with their Daddy and will remember this trip for the rest of their lives.
We pulled them out of the last of the school year so they could do this trip with their Dad. Their only homework being, bring back a journal and pictures of your trip.
Your Gail Todd, of Housekeeping helped tremendously in giving us direction as to what sights we could see and places to eat, etc. She gave our 8 yr. old a tourist book of sites to see and marked the places for us to visit. She took it back to her classroom and along with her journal and pictures, entertained the entire class the day she returned.
We appreciate all of the comfort and help we got while we were there. Anything we needed, we were given.
Thank you, Caravelle.
