Memories
Never disappointed!
Richard & Susan Wooten • Trenton, MI
We first visited Myrtle Beach, I think, around 1992, when our children were just 5 & 7 yrs. old. We'd checked into a different hotel closer to, well, lets just say closer to an area that catered more to teens than families. The next day, we took a drive north and discovered the beautiful Caravelle Resort & decided to move our stay here. What a fabulous week that was, at this family oriented resort!
The kids loved sleeping on the murphy bed, drifting in the lazy river & enjoying the 7th floor pool. Not to mention building sand castles & jumping the ocean waves, of course.
We returned every few years; whenever we could afford a "big" vacation. Sometimes we'd bring along another family to share this fun spot with us. The kids would race each other to the beach every morning to write huge letters in the sand - sending secret messages to their friends to be viewed from the balcony's high above. We wouldn't trade these memories of great family times at The Caravelle for anything. Priceless.
Those little kids of ours are now 23 & 25. They are all grown up & planning their own adventures now. We had a few "lean years", where we gave up vacations & dining out while paying for two college tuitions at the same time. But, now, watch out Myrtle Beach, were ba-ack! The empty nester's are returning to our favorite place in September: The Caravelle! And, we are bringing friends along, too!
We are looking forward to rediscover everything that is new and will be experiencing it from a totally new perspective: not catering to the needs of the children, but still want the "family" atmosphere that the Caravelle has always provided to us. One thing is for sure, we KNOW there will be no disappointments. Sure bet.
