The summer of 2008, was the best vacation we have ever had.  We weren't exactly sure if we could afford to actually take the vacation, but our oldest son was graduating from high school and we knew that sometimes college schedules interfere with family trips.  We decided to just take the vacation.  These are memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.  The Carolina Dunes had the most beautiful view from our balcony, and the beach had endless activities on it.  One thing that everyone always talks about was the beach football game.  Even the dads got involved.  We took many walks at night on the beach with the kids and totally enjoyed watching the fisherman at work.  It was so calm and peaceful as though the ocean was actually speaking to us.  We spent the majority of our vacation on the beach or in the condo with friends that vacationed with us.  I have never had a vacation quite like it.  In March of 2009, our oldest son passed away due to a blood clot.  We are so glad that we took our three kids on that family vacation.  We will never get the chance to have another trip with the entire family again.  We still visit every year with the other two  children, but we will always have someone missing.  Last year the pain we felt was comforted by the wonderful memories that we had the year before when our son was with us.  We are so grateful that we have this to go to every year and that we didn't let money keep us from creating this memory for us.  The Carolina Dunes will always be very special to us.
