Having lived here in Myrtle Beach for a little over four years now, I've had the opportunity to play about half of the golf courses so far. When I get the chance to play one for the first time, it fills me with a sense of anticipation that I used to get on Christmas morning...ok I admit it, I still get the feeling on Christmas morning. So, it was with an eager sense of anticipation that I set out to play Caledonia for the first time.

Chip and I got to play at Blackmoor with a couple of friends last Sunday and got involved in a heated two man best ball grudge match against each other.  Blackmoor is a great golf course designed by Gary Player that is set in the "low country" of South Carolina, which really just means that it's on the south end of the beach on a great piece of scenic property.  We had a perfect golf day with temperatures in the high 60's, though that it was apparently a little bit too cold for the alligators that are normally out on nice days on the pond that separates the 14^th, 15^th and 16^th holes.  I have seen as many as three gators on that section of the course, but they generally come out when it's about 10-15 degrees warmer.
