The Best Fireworks Spots on the 4th of July
There are some great spots to view the massive fireworks displays all over the beach on Independence Day 2013. Loud spots, quiet relaxing areas, whatever you’re into – there’s a place for you. Here’s a few to choose from:
The Boardwalk and Plyler Park
This is where I will be that night! I plan to get on the Sky Wheel around 10:00 pm so that I can get a better view of the big colorful fireworks over the ocean. This spot is gonna be packed on the 4th. The Reggie Sullivan Band concert starts at 8:00 pm, plus all of the shops and restaurants around Plyler Park (located off 9th Ave. and Ocean Blvd) will be open for business. Music, food, and fun everywhere…I can’t wait!
See the Sky Light up at Pelicans Stadium
Thirsty Thursday will be a blast at the stadium (located at 1251 21st Ave. North across from Broadway at the Beach), especially on Independence Day 2013! Tickets to the Pelicans baseball game are just $13! Let me give you a tip right now, though. The game starts at 7:00 pm, so try and get there by 6:15, or you’re gonna have a hard time parking. Once you get in, grab a cold drink and hot dog, sit back and enjoy the game and beautiful fireworks display.
Fireworks Party at the House of Blues
There’s a free fireworks party on the deck at the House of Blues (4640 Hwy 17 South in North Myrtle Beach) on the 4th of July as well. It starts at 8:00 that evening and goes on until midnight, featuring music from The Colonials band plus plenty food and drink specials. So, if you’re 18 or over and looking for a live party spot for the 4th, just show up at the House of Blues Outside Deck and have a ball!
Chill at Cherry Grove Pier
If you are planning to watch the fireworks on the 4th in a quieter, more laid back atmosphere, Cherry Grove Pier is where you should visit that night. It’s located at 3500 North Ocean Blvd, a short drive north of the Caravelle Resort. Grab a towel or beach chair and lay on the beach, or you could just view them from your car.
Happy Independence Day!
