The 4th Annual Wine Fest
Wine gets better with time, and so does the Annual Wine Festival every year in Myrtle Beach. It’s being held in Valor Park at the Market Common (which is located just a short drive south of the Caravelle Resort) on October 19th, 2013. This much anticipated event will be held from 11am-7pm and admission is free. The only thing you pay for is your $5 wine glass, and the 2 oz. samples will be “pay as you go”.
When you arrive, you can purchase you tickets for the wine samples at the gate, just like last year. The great tasting wine samples will cost between one and four tickets each, depending on the brand. There will be plenty of options to choose from, including over 100 different kinds of wine from here in the U.S. and around the globe. 20 specialty vendors will be there as well, along with plenty of food to compliment your wine. Live music can be heard throughout the day as you move from vendor to vendor.
Wine tastings aren’t about overindulgence, but more about smelling and sipping fine wines, and then pairing them with different foods. According to one article entitled “82 Delicious Facts about Wine”, women are better wine tasters than men, since in actuality they have a better sense of smell. Also, have you ever seen how wine tasters are always swirling their wine around in their glasses? Well, this is just to let the aroma collect inside the glass, which is usually only about a third of the way full.
Valor Park is one of the most beautiful places on the beach. It’s the perfect spot for the Fourth Annual Wine Fest 2013, and I know you’ll have a blast there on the 19th.
