The 4th Annual Irish Fest at Market Common
On March 16, 2013 the 4th Annual Irish Fest will be held in Market Common. It’s a family friendly event that includes live music & entertainment, many different vendors to choose from, kid’s activities, good Irish food, and a distinct selection of beers. The festivities will start at 11 a.m. in Valor Park, and proceed until 7 p.m. that evening.
The selection of brews is what sets this event apart from others like it this time of year on the Grand Strand. For example, the Brooklyn Dry Irish Stout will be available, a beer with an espresso-type chocolate palate pleaser that still uses a nitrogen head-producing practice that was started in the 1960’s. Another coffee lover’s brew with imported chocolates, oats, and a cinnamon head, Founder’s Breakfast Stout, will also be available.
The best thing about the beers at Irish Fest (outside of their tastes) is that their prices are simply outstanding. All of them range from only $3 to $5, not to mention the ABV levels of some of them are up to 8.3% (Founder’s, the stout mentioned above, is exactly that)! One that’s at a lower level of 5.6% is the Highland Brewing Company’s workhorse American Gaelic Ale, the malty bodied beer that was the very first one to be called “Celtic”. For those beer drinkers that are fond of hops, the Goose Island IPA (India Pale Ale) with the fruity aroma and malt center will be on hand at the event as well. Its bourbon tint is similar to that of the New South White Ale, a 4.6% ABV ale that’s Belgian and brewed with a little orange, coriander, and citrus.
There will also be more common beers like Bud Light and various other bottles available. Don’t miss this much anticipated event in the beautiful Market Common area, just a short drive away from The Caravelle Resort.
