Magic Al and the Easter Bunny are Coming to The Caravelle!

There will be plenty of Easter activities this year at The Caravelle Resort. From Friday, March 29th through April Fool’s Day, Magic Al will be creating balloon magic from 1-4pm daily. On Saturday, March 30th there will be an Easter Egg Hunt for ages 5 & under at 10:30 am, ages 6-8 at 11am, and for ages 9-12 at 11:30 am. Following the Easter Egg Hunts, there will be a coloring contest at 12:30pm and a water balloon relay from 3:00-4:00pm. With all these fun activities, how can we make the day even better? We’re kicking off the day with a visit from the Easter Bunny at 9:30am!!!

Get up early…he’ll be hopping all over … from the Santa Maria Restaurant to the pool. I guess you all are wondering “How can a bunny bring us eggs every year?” since bunnies don’t lay eggs. Well, the Easter Bunny is a very special bunny…

Way back in the times of Kings and Castles, there was a very greedy king who had a great magician in his court. One day, this powerful magician gave the king a wonderful gift: a young hen that laid beautiful colored eggs. The king was happy for a little while, but then his greediness kicked in. He told the magician that he would like the hen a lot more if it laid eggs that were made of gold.

So, the magician cast another mystical spell on the hen. The gluttonous king was overjoyed when the enchanted hen stood up, and a shiny solid golden egg rest in the place where the colored ones were before!

The king was very pleased, and became the richest in the entire land. He wanted to protect his golden hen, so whenever he had visitors to the castle, he would instruct his magician to replace it with a regular hen in the small cage beside his throne.

A short while later, a guest to the castle stole the cage with the fake hen inside, just as the greedy king had predicted. He laughed, then gave the order for the magician to bring back his hen that laid the golden eggs.

The next day, the king woke up early and went to his throne where he found the hen’s cage filled with a little furry white bunny instead of a hen. He ordered the servants to take the cage to the woods and release the bunny, and then he called the magician to his throne. “Where is my golden egg laying hen?” he asked. “I thought I told you to bring it back after the fake one was stolen yesterday.”

“Sire,” said the magician, “I’ve been working on a brand new trick all night, one where I pull a rabbit from a hat. I brought it back to your throne and sat it right there this morning. I was going to change it back into the hen before you woke up…where is it, Your Highness?”

They searched and searched. They never found the little white bunny, but children all over the kingdom started finding colored eggs in odd places from time to time…some of them even found golden eggs.
