Jimmy “JJ” Walker is at Comedy Cabana in January!
Jimmy “JJ” Walker is coming to the Comedy Cabana from January 24th-26th 2013. Dyn-O-Mite!!
Jimmy Walker was named “Comedian of the Decade” in the 1970’s by Time Magazine. Most folks know him as the skinny, outspoken, and always crazy “JJ” from the popular classic sitcom “Good Times”. The well-known show (which gave Walker most of his initial TV exposure) also featured stars like John Amos as “James Evans, Sr.”, Esther Rolle as “Florida Evans”, and Janet Jackson, who as a child played the character “Milicent ‘Penny’ Woods”. More recently, he’s made guest appearances on “Scrubs”, “Everybody Hates Chris”, and “The George Lopez Show".
Walker had a wonderful career on screen, but standup is his heart. Having performed at shows all across the United States (like the World Famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles, for example), he’s one of America’s most recognizable and loved comedians. Comedy lovers are so glad to see that he’s making a stop in the Grand Strand next month.
Conveniently located just a few miles from the Caravelle Resort at 9588 North Kings Highway, the Comedy Cabana is Myrtle Beach’s only 5-Star comedy club. The age requirement is 15 & up (15-17 year olds have to be with an adult), and they recommend that you make reservations in advance, since most of their shows sell out really fast. The box office and call center hours are from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Monday, and stay open until 9p.m. Tuesday-Thursday. They’re open even later Friday-Sunday, until 11p.m.
All seating is given according to reservations, and all performances are non-smoking shows. Don’t forget to use your VMB Card to get 50% off on your second ticket (except on Saturdays or Special Events).
Have fun!
