Movies Under the Stars at McClean Park
Tired of paying to watch a movie in a cooped-up theater? How about a free movie, outside, while lounging in beach chairs at Mclean Park? You can enjoy fun under the stars every 2nd Friday, just a few minutes after sunset, on South Oak Drive in North Myrtle Beach, just a short drive north of The Caravelle Resort.
The atmosphere of an outside movie is amazing. All movies that are shown will be rated G or PG, so the whole family can just bring their blankets, chairs popcorn and snacks, sit back and enjoy!
The schedule of movies is as follows:
On August 9th at 8:30 pm, your family will enjoy “Here Comes the Boom”(PG) starring Kevin James (from movies like “The Grownups” and “ZooKeeper”) who plays a biology teacher turned martial arts fighter. He’s trying to stop extra-curricular activities from being cut from his school, and gets plenty of bumps and bruises on his mission!
On September 13th at 7:40 pm, Disney Pixar’s “Brave” (PG) will be showing. Kelly Macdonald (from the show “Boardwalk Empire”) does the voice of Princess Merida, who just wants to live her own life and change the tradition of princesses in her kingdom. She’s an expert archer, and with her bow and arrow you can watch her get personal justice in this great film!
On October 11th at McClean Park, “Frankenweenie” (PG) will be playing at 7:00 pm. Tim Burton (who helped write movies like “Beetlejuice”, “Batman Returns”, and “Edward Scissorhands”) presents this fun animated thriller where a little boy tries to bring his dog back to life with a science experiment, resulting in horrific, outrageous consequences!
There’s nothing like a nice movie under the stars. Visit McClean Park on the days above and experience the fun for yourself!
