Flyboard on the Ocean with Hydrofly!
We’ve all heard of surfing on a surfboard, but what about flying up to twenty feet over the water on a Flyboard? This brand new watersport can be experienced at Hydrofly Watersports, located at 5843 Dick Pond Road in Myrtle Beach.
According to their website, Hydrofly has the only flyboards in South Carolina, which are boards that are made to propel high pressure water out of the two nozzles underneath. You can look down into the ocean below from an angle that you have never seen before. A jet ski provides the power for the boards, and you can actually “fly” above the surface of the ocean in any direction you choose! It’s kind of like having water rockets attached to your feet that allow you to hover up in the air for as long as you like.
Hydrofly Watersports specializes in training and giving other specific instructions to first time boarders, so there is no need to worry about whether you are safe when you are on your Flyboard. In fact, they will be controlling the power of your board from the jet ski itself, so you can have fun and play with peace of mind.
The rates to Flyboard are also great. It’s only $95 per person for 1-3 riders, $85 for 4-7 riders, or $80 for 8 or more people. You have to have reservations in order to join the fun, so call during the staff’s office hours of 9:00am-6:30pm by calling (843) 900-1FLY. If you are a Caravelle Resort guest, remember to bring your VMB Card with you for a $10 Discount off the 20-minute Flyboard lesson!
