PS....Our favorite guy, Santa Claus, made it into South Carolina last night shortly after 11 pm EST and was spotted just south of us in Charleston. Some of us tried to wait up to catch a glimpse, but it seems that we missed him again this year....we hope that you had better luck than we did!
It's the "Most wonderful time of the year" and Christmas season is finally here!
The Christmas season is widely thought of as a favorite time of the year in Myrtle Beach as weekend vacationers head to the Grand Strand for great holiday shopping and great entertainment.
One of the most popular spots for holiday entertainment in Myrtle Beach is the Alabama Theatre as The South's Grandest Christmas Show takes to the stage in November and December. The show is two hours of wonderful carols, dancing and comedy.
The South's Grandest Christmas Show takes place every Monday - Saturday excluding December 23, 24 and Christmas day, and some days feature two shows. For more schedule details Click Here to visit Alabama Theatre's web site. For discount tickets, contact our entertainment department at 800-507-9145.

Myrtle Beach offers a lot of great entertainment options for the Christmas season, but one of our favorites has long been the Nights of a Thousand Candles at Brookgreen Gardens. Each year the over the weekends preceeding Christmas, Brookgreen Gardens, which is generally recognized as one of the most beautiful places in the country, set the walkways and garden paths aglow with literally thousands of candles and luminaries as musicians perform and carolers sing Christmas classics.
This year's events are held on December 5 & 6, December 12 & 13 and December 18, 19 & 20, and each of these seven nights will feature entertainment by Rocky Fretz on piano, Vocal Edition, Bill Oberst, Jr. in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, hand bell choirs and much more.
Tickets will be on sale from October 1 through November 30, 2008, and will be available at Brookgreen’s Admission Plaza and Lowcountry Information Center or by phone at (843) 235-6016. There will be a $1 processing fee to mail tickets. Advance adult tickets are $12. In December, adult tickets are $15 and child tickets (ages 6-12) are $6. All children ages five and under are free.
For more information Click Here to visit Brookgreen Gardens' web site.
It's always hard to believe that it's that time of year when the
Christmas circulars start showing up in our Sunday newspaper and
decorations start appearing in malls and shops, but here we are again
with the "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" knocking on our door.
Myrtle Beach has long been a Christmas wonderland of its own with all
of the great Christmas shows and the great shopping that is offered
around town, and now The Palace Theatre has announced a special
presentation of the Nutcracker - A Magical Holiday Treat.
It's hard to believe we are already getting into the Holiday season, but the end of October doesn't just bring out the ghosts and goblins of Halloween in Myrtle Beach....this is also the time of the year when Myrtle Beach gets in the spirit of Christmas!
