Charitable Giving at The Caravelle Resort
The Caravelle has been welcoming guests for almost 60 years, and we have been blessed to have the opportunity to create many lifelong relationships with our guests and employees. As we enter this season of giving, the Caravelle would like to thank all of our guests and employees for giving so generously to causes we have supported throughout 2013.
Over the years, we have had the opportunity to partner with many charitable organizations. Many of our repeat guests are aware of the Annual Caravelle Golf Tournament we have held each spring, with proceeds the last two years going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. But we have also partnered with our VMB sister properties to raise funds for many other organizations over the last year. We have supported Jason’s House, providing week long summer vacations to terminally ill children and their families. We supported our local schools by collecting food supplies for children through “Backpack Buddies”, providing snack items for kids to carry home in their backpacks to ensure no child goes hungry. We participated in a benefit dinner to support the loss of one of our local police officers who heroically lost his life while fighting the Carolina Forest Fire that destroyed many homes in the Myrtle Beach area. In October, our guests and employees went pink with their contributions supporting Making Strides and Breast Cancer Awareness. And more recently, we accepted donations for Toys for Tots, so that local children would have something under the tree from Santa this Christmas.
In the coming year, please continue reading our blogs to learn more about the charities we support each month. We again thank our guests and employees for their generosity this year, and during this Holiday Season of giving, we wish you “Peace on Earth and Goodwill To All Men”.
