Caravelle Employee Runs in 12th Straight Myrtle Beach Marathon

The starting gun for the Myrtle Beach Marathon will blast tomorrow for the 12th consecutive year, and this year's event has proven to be the largest turnout yet, selling out in early January.  As the event has grown over the course of the previous 11 races, the marathon has attracted more and more world class runners, including former Olympian turned Grand Strand resident Zola Budd Pieterse.

All of that said, we are most excited and proud to see Jim Pence run in the marathon for the 12th consecutive year.  Jim has become one of our more popular employees as he can be found managing the Marco Polo Pool Bar in season, and Liquids Coffee and Martini Bar during the cooler months.  Jim's impressive accomplishments over the past 11 marathons has garnered quite a local following for him, including an article written in our local newspaper, The Sun News, and even a piece on our local ABC affiliate, WPDE (video link).
